Creating a truly trauma-responsive school requires shifting from a “rules first” to a “relationships first” mindset. This webinar highlighted the adjustments required in instruction, expectations and relationships in order to establish a safe, connected environment for every student.
Our speaker for this session was James Moffett, principal of Derby Hill Elementary School in Kansas. James shared his experience in creating a Trauma Sensitive School (TSS) that includes safe spots, mindfulness, self-regulation and a social and emotional curriculum.
